The Australian folksinger Simon MacDonald (1906-1968) spent most of his life living in the district around Creswick in country Victoria. This arrangement by Ken Murray of this song is inspired by MacDonald's moving recording of this folksong, made towards the end of his life. It forms part of a suite of Australian folksong arrangements for guitar.
